And They’re Off to the Altar: Anastasia + Joe

Anastasia and Joe may have not bet on the winning horse at the Kentucky Derby one Saturday in May, but they did win each other. Having their first date at the Kentucky Derby, deeming “Derby Day” their anniversary, and getting engaged at Churchill Downs for the derby, it only seems fitting that this fun-loving couple hosted a Kentucky Derby themed wedding for 225 guests. Anastasia and Joe said, “I do,” June 22nd, 2013 at St. Michael’s Church in Galena, IL and were off to Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa for their reception.

The bride looked breathtaking in her lace gown. She purchased accessories from Bella Bleu, the Gladys Hat by Sara Gabriel and Stella Veil by Tote Couture. We bet Joe could not wait to see his beautiful bride walk down the aisle!

St. Michael’s church fit the bride and groom perfectly.

The couple’s dress code was, “Ladies, don’t forget your hats and gentlemen grab your bow ties!” They incorporated the derby into every aspect of their day. From invitations to decorations, this couple brought the Kentucky Derby to their guests! Their bridal party wore seersucker and sport coats to keep the theme of their fun wedding!

With paper lanterns garnishing the lounge seating area, guests enjoyed the gorgeous view of Lake Galena during cocktail hour.

They even had a horse make an appearance to replicate the winner circle!

Anastasia and Joe did not stop there with fun events for their guests. They featured a cigar bar under the gazebo, rented TV’s outdoors so guests could watch game 5 of the Stanley Cup, and hired a blue grass jazz band.

The couple featured, “Bride and Groom Signature Drinks.” Joe had Mint Juleps in the spotlight, while Anastasia featured Kentucky Oaks.

Anastasia ended the night with a splash! She jumped in the pool with the majority of the bridal party while wearing her wedding dress!

As you can tell, Anastasia and Joe were not ‘horsing’ around when they said they were off to the altar. Congratulations, Anastasia and Joe! Bella Bleu wishes you a beautiful and happy life together!
