Emily and Michael met in high school and spent their first date in an empty movie theatre talking for two hours about their lives thus far, realizing how similar they were. Since that day, they’ve been inseparable. They attended DePaul University together and that is where their bond grew into a solid foundation for the rest of their lives together. Together they traveled abroad during their senior year to Florence, Italy, which led them to Antwerp, Belgium. There they purchased her engagement ring, sure it would not be used for some time – or so Emily thought. After sneaking away for a minute to ask her dad’s blessing, Michael proposed a short time later on the edge of Lake Brienz in Switzerland.
The happy couple said “I do” on the most beautiful first day of Fall, outdoors and in front of a stunning floral wreath and their closest friends and family. They lit a candle in memory of Emily’s late mother, recited simple and hand written vows, then danced the night away as man and wife.
Emily said “yes” to a custom gown from Karen Willis Holmes. She said this about her experience: “Bella Bleu was amazing! Carly was able to borrow pieces for me to try on from Karen Willis Holmes and it made my decision so easy. I was nervous I’d never find the dress I created in my head, but Carly and Bella Bleu made it happen!”
