Similar to a wedding itself, as fast as it rolls around, just like that, it’s over! The beauty and excitement of New York Bridal Fashion week is like Christmas to those of us in the industry! We patiently wait until the designers unveil their new collections for the nextย season. We mostly saw classic silhouettes with a modern twist!

Floral appliquรฉs will always be strong in bridal fashion, but these three-dimensional embellishments make romantic gowns look increasingly modern. Textured adornments bring a gown to life. We saw floral embellishments in a few designers this season. Claire Pettibone Romantique was one of our favorites with the long sleeved gown embellished throughout called “Prairie Rose”.

We are loving sleeves! We will see all sleeve lengths from cap to long to illusion!ย Sleeves give a romantic, feminine look for your big day! Low backs, open backs and illusion backs are still going strong. Don’t expect these to go anywhere!

Love black and white? Claire Pettibone Romantique’s launch “Into the Sunset” had a strong pioneerย influence which had us seeing black accents and black gowns! Would you?

Poofy isn’t going anywhere anytime soon! However, it was seen in tiers and layers. Adding volume in a modern way! ย We were loving Kelly Faetanini’s take on the ball gown!

Beading and embroidery is always an elegant way to “dress up” the dress. Karen Willis Holmes, who has 3 lines under her name devotes one line to beaded and embroidered designs. These are surprisingly light and comfortable for beaded gowns and really have that “wow” factor.

Sarah Janks (below) was one of our favorites (as always!). Mixing her collection “Elan” with heavy silks and light and airy tulles really sends you into an internal struggle of being sexy or romantic! With Sarah’s designs, you really can be both!

Back to the grind and to make the decisions on what to bring into the shop! Or maybe we’ll just buy them all!
